                                                                        Mini Grants

Criteria

All Mini Grants proposals will be submitted to The Hilton Education Foundation (proper manner listed below).

The purpose of the Mini Grants program to provide educators and other stakeholders in the Hilton School District with an alternative way to obtain funding for valuable educational initiatives, projects or other specified needs.

The focus of all Mini Grants should be directly benefiting the education of students.

To make the best use of our funds, we prefer to approve those Mini Grants that reach the greatest number of students, offering the most promising outcomes.

However, we also recognize the specific needs of one student in their pursuit of becoming the best person they can be. We truly believe in the power of one. One person can make a difference and we want to support you in the hope that you can, and will, make a difference in this world. We do believe in you.

While there is not currently a monetary limit set for Mini Grants, please note that we will consider the cost as applied to number of students being served. Small requests are regarded as equally important and allows for more support being able to spread throughout all of the District's schools.

Mini Grant Proposals to The Hilton Education Foundation will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Proposal is consistent with the purpose of The Hilton Education Foundation. It represents an extraordinary expense, one which would not be ordinarily funded through The Hilton Central School District's annual budget.

Proposal is important. It aligns closely with The Hilton Central District Academic standards and New York State Academic standards.

Proposal is cost effective, with respect to the overall cost and number of students being served.

Proposal has potential for transfer of knowledge/application, such that others are likely to build upon the idea/project, thereby extending its use.

Proposal demonstrated QUALITY and VALUE. It has a high likelihood of success, clarity of purpose and/or possesses creativity or cutting edge attributes.

Requests for technology, audio-visual items, or other equipment should be prepared with the guidance of district specialists. This will assure compatibility with other district-owned equipment, completeness of the application, in timeliness of specifications and price quotations. All materials funded by the Mini Grants become the property of The Hilton School District.

Eligible to apply for grants are teachers, staff, and administrators of educational sites that are under The Hilton Central School District. Student groups are encouraged to apply with oversight from a staff member.
