And share their knowledge is exactly what they’ve done. On Monday, December 5, 2007, the Printing House Craftsman Club of Rochester presented to the Hilton Education Foundation a check in the amount of $3,500 to be given out in several scholarships to students studying in the graphics and printing areas in the Hilton School District. The Printing House Craftsmen Club selected Hilton because their graphics program has a long time standing here in Rochester as a provider of young people into the industry of print media.
Presenting the check to the Foundation was Joe Noble, Treasurer of the Rochester Club of Printing House Craftsmen and Hilton resident; Ron Hindmarch, President of the Rochester Club of Printing House Craftsmen Inc. and retired Hilton Technology teacher; and Robin Goodwin, Hilton grad 1989 and Scholarship Committee Printing House Craftsmen Inc. Accepting the check was Brandon McAuliff of the Hilton Education Foundation. Also present from the Foundation were Aggie Seneway, Pat Unterborn and Leslie Vermeulen. Present from the Hilton School District were David Dimbleby, Superintendent of the Hilton Central School District; Debbie Godlove, High School Technology Program Coordinator; Tait Loe and Phil D’Agostino, Technology Education Teachers.
The Hilton Education Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting quality education programs for students. The Foundation was established to receive gifts, donations and scholarships in order to provide funding to enhance the education programs and opportunities of the Hilton School District.
These two organizations are proud to share the same vision for students. They are excited to collaborate and provide opportunities for students to further their involvement and education in the graphics and printing industries.

A passion for kids. Especially Hilton students.
That's what the Hilton Education Foundation (HEF) is all about. And what better forum to introduce the Foundation, but at the Hilton School District on the opening day of school? More community introductions are planned, which we'll discuss later, but first a little history about the Foundation.
In July 2006 a group of dedicated and caring Hilton community members came together with a passion to support the students of the Hilton School district. The Foundation realizes that additional opportunities, above and beyond what the school district could provide, could make a difference for Hilton students - from being just good, to being great. Over the last year, the volunteer group met each month (sometimes two or three times a month) to organize this new not-for-profit foundation to be able to start accepting donations to carry out its mission. Its goals were quite lofty and remain so today - raise as much money as possible to be able to fund as many scholarships and mini-grants as possible for our students. The Foundation is separate from the school district and is led by its own Board of Directors who are deeply rooted in their sense of community pride.
"We're investing in our kids' futures," said George Heinrich, Vice President.
The Foundation's mission is commitment to the students of Hilton schools so they may become self-directed, lifelong learners who think critically and creatively, and function as caring, responsible and productive members of society.
The Foundation relies entirely on donations to carry out its endeavors, and all donations are tax deductible. Donations can be made to the Hilton Education Foundation generally or specifically to establish endowed scholarships, to establish one time scholarships or to fund mini-grants. The mini-grant program is designed to support innovative projects and programs that enhance the school curriculum and enrich the learning experience. The Foundation wants to create opportunities to give students the power to transform their lives. Join the Foundation in supporting our children to give them those opportunities, which they might not otherwise be able to experience. Wouldn't it be great to hear our graduates say that their Hilton education is really where their success started? |
